Originally starting at the Lounge at the age of 16 while attending high school, Jacob has worked diligently at refining the technical and artistic aspects of hairstyling. He has taken his skills outside of the salon to compete on provincial, national and international levels for hairstyling. Finding inspiration in all the varied aspects of hairdressing, Jacob is gathering a loyal following of clients eager to join in his meteoric journey in this exciting and diverse craft! Martin, Lance and the rest of the team nurtured her through her training, refining her natural sensibilities. A dedicated and growing clientele base is a testimony to Iris’ love of the industry, and her passion for excellence. Iris has spent the last year traveling the world, which has brought her a deeper understanding of and appreciation for global influences in hair and fashion.

A Vancouver native, Carolyn's interest in hairdressing first peaked from the academic side of the industry as she took on the position of Salon Coordinator on Vancouver Island.

Although loving the business side of the industry, Carolyn just knew her true love was to cross over to the artistic side. So after moving back to Vancouver and completing her hairdressing education, Carolyn applied for a position at The Lounge. With her great work ethic and commitment to the industry, she was an instant yes to the team!

Carolyn is now taking on new clients, continuing to build her Vancouver based clientele. With an easy demeanour and great attention to the individuality of the clients in her chair she is looking forward to meeting you all in the coming months. Any long term clients of The Lounge will be familiar with the name Karl who was at The Lounge from its 1997 inception.

Karl left the industry for a while (though never losing touch with the art) and is now back amongst the fold of The Lounge, making his mark on clients old and new. This fun loving, rugby playing hairdresser takes on all aspects of life with a passion. Karl is available to take on new clients at this time and would be pleased to book you for an appointment or a free consultation as availability allows.

Nimira started out in the beauty industry as a cosmetologist 10 years ago, providing hair and skin care services to clients. She progressed to building her own salon/spa in Dallas, Texas which she operated for 6 years. Originally from Vancouver, she just moved back last year and has brought her years of experience in salon management to the Lounge.

International Guest Artist and co-owner of The Lounge Hair Studio, Lance Blanchette’s career has been nothing short of a dream. After an extensive first career in banking, Lance moved to blend his academia with his latent artistic skills and what emerged was a skill set which has catapulted him into international notoriety on both stage and TV.

Keeping abreast of the latest developments both technically and artistically in the world of hairdressing, Lance manages to accommodate a full clientele in between his world-wide educational travel, which takes him everywhere from Asia to Europe and South and North America.

Booking in advance for an appointment is a prudent move if you wish to share some time with Lance. His approach to colour, cutting and all hairdressing skills, is both honest and sensitive to the needs of the individual.
